The Commission adopted the following articles of which the Commission took note at its 61st session (A/CN.4/L.758): 1 (Scope/Champ d'application), 2 (Purpose/Object), 3 (Definition of Disaster/Définition du terme "catastrophe"), 4 (Relationship with International Humanitarian Law/Relation avec le droit international humanitaire) and 5 (Duty to cooperate/Obligation de coopérer).

  • Election of officers
    • The Commission elected Mr. Nugroho WISNUMURTI (Indonesia) as the new Chair for the remainder of the session to replace Mme XUE Hanqin, following her resignation from the Commission owing to her election to the International Court of Justice on 29 June 2010.
  • Programme of Work
    • The Commission decided to amend it agenda, contained in document A/CN.4/619 in order to include a new item entitled “Filling of a casual vacancy in the Commission”.
