On 23 May 2016, the Legal Counsel, Mr. Serpa Soares, addressed the Resumed Review Conference on the Fish Stocks Agreement at its opening. The Conference will be presented with a report of the twelfth round of informal consultations, will consider the status of the assistance fund and will assess the effectiveness of the Agreement in securing the conservation and management of straddling fish stocks and highly migratory fish stocks.
