United Nations Diplomatic Conference of Plenipotentiaries on Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Humanity
Proposals for amendments
In its resolution 79/122, the General Assembly referred to the United Nations Conference of Plenipotentiaries on Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Humanity a compiled text, to serve as the basis for negotiations, consisting of both the draft articles on prevention and punishment of crimes against humanity, as contained in chapter IV of the report of the International Law Commission on the work of its seventy-first session (A/74/10), and a compilation of proposals for amendments to the draft articles submitted by Governments.
The Assembly decided, inter alia, that the Preparatory Committee for the United Nations Conference of Plenipotentiaries on Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Humanity shall prepare the compiled text for submission to the Conference. The Assembly invited Governments to submit to the Secretary-General, no later than 30 April 2026, proposals for amendments to the draft articles for inclusion in the compiled text, and requested the Secretary-General to submit a proposed compiled text to the Preparatory Committee at its second session, to be held in 2027.
By a note verbale dated 21 April 2025, the Secretary-General invited Governments to submit, no later than 30 April 2026, proposals for amendments to the draft articles. In response to the invitation of the Secretary-General, the submissions listed below were received.
