Last update: 24 September 2003 The Assembly of States Parties, at the 5th meeting of its second session, held on 12 September 2003, elected the following members of the Board of Directors of the Trust Fund for the benefit of victims, by acclamation:
Background The Assembly of States Parties, in its resolution ICC-ASP/1/Res.6 (E, F, S, R ,C ,A), adopted at its 3rd meeting on 9 September 2002, established a Board of Directors of the Trust Fund for the benefit of victims provided for in article 79 of the Rome Statute. In its resolution ICC-ASP/1/Res.7 (E, F, S, R ,C ,A), adopted on the same day, the Assembly further established the procedure for the nomination and election of members of the Board of Directors. At its 11th meeting, on 22 April, the Assembly decided, upon the recommendation of the Bureau, to open the nomination period for members of the Board of Directors of the Trust Fund for the benefit of victims of crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court, and the families of such victims to run from 28 April to 21 August 2003 and the Secretariat was requested to issue an official note inviting nominations. By the closure of the nomination period on 21 August 2003, the following nomination had been received:
