31st Annual Seminar on International Humanitarian Law for Diplomats Accredited to the United Nations held on 19 February 2014.

On 19 March 2014, the Legal Counsel, Mr. Serpa Soares, addressed the 31st Annual Seminar on International Humanitarian Law for Diplomats Accredited to the United Nations. During the opening segment of the seminar, the Legal Counsel delivered a keynote address on the recent IHL developments at the United Nations and in particular the UN's efforts to ensure compliance with IHL by others and compliance with IHL by the United Nations. Mr. Serpa Soares addressed the NYU-ICRC seminar for the first time continuing a long and well-established tradition of Legal Counsels participating in this important event.
