Mr. Miguel de Serpa Soares, and H.E. Mr. Karel van Oosterom signed an agreement.


"On 23 February 2015, the Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and United Nations Legal Counsel, Mr. Miguel de Serpa Soares, and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Karel van Oosterom signed the "Agreement between the United Nations and the Kingdom of the Netherlands concerning the Headquarters of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals". The conclusion of the Agreement represents an important step in the ongoing implementation of Security Council resolution 1966 (2010) and creates a long-term framework for the work of the Residual Mechanism's Branch in The Hague. Consideration of the Agreement by the Dutch legislature will be the next step in the process leading to entry into force of the Agreement.
