Regional Courses in International Law The Regional Courses in International Law are organized under the Programme of Assistance in the Teaching, Study, Dissemination and Wider Appreciation of International Law by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs. They are designed to enable qualified persons, in particular, government lawyers and teachers of international law from developing countries to deepen their knowledge of international law. A limited number of fellowships are awarded to candidates and candidates may also apply for self-funded positions. The Regional Courses provided high-quality training by leading scholars and practitioners from different regions and legal systems on a broad range of core subjects of international law, as well as specific subjects of particular interest in given region. Since 1967, more than thirty-five Regional Courses have been held in various countries. At present, a Regional Course in International Law for each of Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean is held every year (more).
